In this episode of the Spa Life Show, Diane’s guest is Jen Nash. Jen is known as a connector in chief who helps companies boost their retention rates and people who add more meaning to their lives through connection. She is also a master facilitator, author of “The Big Power of Tiny Connections: How Small Interactions Spark Awesome Outcomes”, sought-after executive, and a corporate speaker. She experienced breaking up with her partner of 13 years and went through a lawsuit regarding who gets what in their belongings. A good friend of hers who’s had experience in lawsuits helped her through it by being supportive and giving advice. Through this, she learned how important connection and clarity is. After that, she went through another relationship which eventually broke down as well but at the same time, she finished writing her book. Because of this, she realized that as humans, the most powerful thing we can do to move, our lives and visions forward is to connect with the world around us.

[02:56] “They forget that asking someone how their wife is healing, asking someone how their dog is doing post-surgery or checking in after Father's Day. These kinds of things really cement a sense of ‘Oh, this goes beyond the objectives that I'm here to deliver. This person cares about me.’ And that's really important.”
[06:12] “As people, we get so focused on the end goal, and just getting it all done that we forget how delicious that zing of connection is, how that playfulness adds to the value of our life. And I think the employees must be reminded that at the end of the day, this is good for team building, this is good for showing up, this is good for promotion, this is good for corporate awareness of your different interpersonal skills.”
[06:53] “You must have leaders who are participating and underscoring how important it is to be seen as 360 Humans. When we're living in this two-dimensional world, we have to be more than that.”
