In this episode of the Spa Life Show, Diane’s guest is retired Shaye Molendyke, a retired Air Force Lieutenant Colonel, 28 years in service. She is the creator and director of Yoga Fit for Warriors and Yoga Fit for Warrior Kids. These trauma-informed yoga programs are focused on helping and empowering anyone struggling with PTSD or unresolved physical and emotional trauma. They are specially designed for yoga teachers, mental health workers, educators, veterans, their families, first responders, and those who help and love them. Shaye is also a yoga therapist through the International Association of Yoga Therapists (IAYT) and works with groups and individuals to help process unresolved traumas, including long-held childhood traumas. She earned her master's in counseling from the University of Maryland in 2003 while in the military and spent a year working directly with veterans returning from the Iraq War and the inpatient psychiatric ward at Landstuhl base, Germany.
